Koenraad Coppens, President KWB

Fortunately, I got the message quite quickly. My Latin teacher especially, was keeping an eye on me and warned me right at the start that if I wanted to finish my final year without problems, I should change my strategy.  I shouldn’t draw attention to myself in class too much and only if I was convinced the answer was correct, should I attempt to be the first to answer the question. This strategy paid off and I finished secondary school right on track.

With its 4-year plan adopted in Nantes in October 2009 and worked out in continental seminars, the WMCW wants to open up to new prospects for and with the migrants. While some are building physical or internal walls, it is proposing to build bridges. It announces the possibility of living together and its members are given the means to build up a real fraternity.

The introduction of adequate salaries – “living wages“ – across Europe

In the Europe 2020 strategy, the European Union has identified its targets and objectives for the coming decade. The consequences of this far-reaching decision will be felt by European citizens even on the local and municipal level. We hold the view that decisions about the future of Europe should not be a matter for Brussels alone to decide - which is why we invite you today to make your own personal contribution. The website http://www.vote-europe.net aims to involve as many people as possible in the discussions about the Europe 2020 strategy and its objectives.

Mitte Mai waren viele Plätze in den spanischen Städten (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao..) von den „Indignés (Empörten)“ besetzt. Poverty in Europe

Armut Kind
Poverty is on the increase in Europe, with almost one in five Europeans being affected. According to Eurostat, the EU statistical body, at the end of 2008, across the EU, a total of 85 million people suffered from poverty, i.e. 17 % of all Europeans.
The ECWM casts a critical eye on this scandalous development and calls for the dismantling of the social security systems, the massive creation of atypical and precarious working relations and avoidance of the Working Poor through an appropriate minimum wage in all European states.
