HOAC LOC WEBCA Burgos
The executive team of the LOC/MTC and the permanent commission of the HOAC held their annual coordination meeting from 17th to 19th February in Burgos to share and to analyze together the life and efforts of the activists – male and female – of both movements and the current state of the working environment and the Church in both countries.

The place of the women in the world- case of the women in Uganda
At the beginning of this year 2013, Ugandans, especially females, were excited when feminist and civil society activist Winnie Byanyima sprang to one important global helm. She was appointed the Executive Director of Oxfam International. Similarly, last year two other prolific Ugandan women rose in international stature. The East African Legislative Assembly hoisted Margaret Zziwa to its Speakership, making her the first woman and Ugandan to occupy that seat. The other is Margaret Mungherera, who was elected as President of World Medical Association (WMA).

ECWM was partner in a Grundtvig project. Grundtvig projects arte educational projects of the European Unity. The project where ECWM worked in with 5 other partners refers to some actual trends of social exclusion, powerlessness and (lacks of) solidarisation, of which Europe is affected. The processes of economic globalization, boosted by the recent financial crisis give to many citizens of the European countries the impression being exposed to powerful and hardly apperceptible structures and procedures.

Bratislava EBCA

The ECWM organised its yearly seminar in Bratislava, Slovakia from 18 to 21 of October. Neartly sixty participants from thirteen european countries were present. The issue: “Social security and protection”.

LOC Portugal - "Against the devastating effect of work and salary devaluation"

LOC Bratislava
The latest decisions taken by the national government concerning State Budget for 2013, including the averted attempt to reduce the salaries by transference to workers of part of the entrepreneurs obligations related to the Single Social Rate payment, show the government’s obsessive fundamentalism to follow a policy path that is leading to social disaster.

During the Conference "Europe 2020: Fighting with Poverty and Social Exclusion of Workers" organized by the Polish Trade Union Solidarnosz and EZA on April 20-22nd in Warsaw, KAB-Online interrogated   Radoslaw Mleczko, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy of Poland.
Subjects of the interview  are Poverty and Social Exclusion and the measures the Polish Government is supposed to do against them.

Mitte Mai waren viele Plätze in den spanischen Städten (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao..) von den „Indignés (Empörten)“ besetzt. Vor allen Jugendliche verlangten dort einen politischen Richtungswechsel und eine neue Vision für ihre Zukunft. Auch in anderen Ländern Europas wie in Griechenland, Frankreich, Portugal und Deutschland rebellierten die Jugendlichen gegen die politischen Zustände
